Foi anunciado na manhã desta sexta-feira (7), os indicados ao 61º Grammy Awards, a principal premiação no mundo da música. A lista foi revelada no programa americano This Morning, da emissora CBS. O anúncio estava previsto para a última quinta-feira (5), no entanto foi adiado devido funeral do ex-presidente dos EUA George H.W. Bush, que morreu no último sábado (1º).

Entre os indicados deste ano estão a novata na cena do rap, Cardi B, indicada em Gravação do Ano, Música do Ano e Álbum do Ano - sendo a segunda rapper feminina na categoria mais importante do prêmio, a primeira foi Lauryn Hill em 1999. A revelação do pop Dua Lipa indicada em Best New Artist. O novato do rap que ganhou a atenção dos usuários dos serviços de streaming, Post Malone indicado quatro vezes. O casal Carter, Jay-Z e Beyoncé, também aparece nas categorias de R&B da lista. Taylor Swift acabou sendo esnobada nas categorias principais da premiação e conseguiu apenas uma indicação em Melhor Álbum Pop Vocal. Camila Cabello, recordista de prêmios neste ano, acabou sendo indicada apenas duas vezes: Melhor Álbum Pop Vocal e Melhor Performance Pop Solo.
